Northern Arizona Church Planting Network

Through the Northern Arizona Church Planting Network God is opening doors of opportunity for planting churches in many unique places and unique ways across Northern Arizona. The Northern Arizona Church Planting Network is a partnership initiated by the North American Mission Board, Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, River Valley Mission Network, Grand Canyon, Desert Pines, Four Corners Associations, and the many churches in this part of Arizona who desire to be a part of planting new churches. Church Planter Missionary Tommy Thomas serves this region of Arizona in helping churches develop a vision for church planting, partner together in birthing new congregations, and thinking outside the box in catalyzing many different kinds of new churches. For more information and partnership opportunities contact the River Valley Mission Network.
Pictured here is a group beaming with expectation in the village of Coppermine in the western region of the Navajo Nation. Through the vision of Pastor Jesse Billy and the First Southern Baptist Church of Tuba City, a new church is being rebuilt and reopened after closing over ten years ago. God has not forgotten this remote area between Tuba City and Page, where new families are returning since the road from Gap to Page is newly paved. Named the First Windmill Baptist Church, this new church plant will serve families of all ages and has just conducted its first Vacation Bible School. Partners have graciously provided a dirt bike for Pastor Jesse to visit families in outlying areas. Future plans include the planting of at least two more churches comprising a network of new Navajo churches. Many opportunities exist for rebirthing this new work. This work is sponsored by First Southern Tuba City and the churches of the Grand Canyon Baptist Association. Check out their Facebook page.
On Sunday, June 21st, we celebrated the opening of the new Silver Lake Family Fellowship in the Little Mormon Lake area of Show Low. The first open house for this new church plant was a great opportunity to show off our new church building strategically located in the Silver Lake community and many families from the neighborhood came to check out this new church under the leadership of Pastor David Lee and wife, Nancy. Regular services are scheduled to begin Sunday, August 2nd. It is nothing short of amazing how God has secured these fine facilities and brought together all the right partners for a strong, healthy, launch for this new church. Silver Lake is sponsored by the Linden Hills Family Fellowship and the churches of the Desert Pines Baptist Association. Check out their Facebook page.
Special concerts, arena events, worship services, and bible study groups are among the ministry approaches and opportunities at the new Crosswinds Cowboy Church in Springerville under the leadership of Pastor Dennis King and wife, Kelly. Future plans include a possible network of cowboy churches in the Taylor, Saint Johns, and Safford areas. Services are presently conducted at the Rode Inn in downtown Springerville. This new church is sponsored by the JesusFirst Church of Eagar and the churches of the Desert Pines Baptist Association. Saddle up, come visit a spell, and check them out on Facebook.
